Nice hotel. Excellent restaurant. Only criticism is the heating of the rooms. Too cold and the duvets were too light.

Although we've stated at this hotel previously. We had a one night stay for my nieces wedding. What a great venue!! The room for the ceremony and the room for breakfast / evening party were just superb! All the staff are so friendly, attentive and they had plenty of staff on shift to make it run smoothly. Hence, my niece was over the moon. The food was hot & delicious, which is always difficult when serving for 50+ people. Our room was spacious and very clean. The small downside was we went to bed early , so the music was loud enough we could feel it through our room . It's only a small negative as the rest of our stay was epic. Well done team Diplomat, you deserve a pat on the back. 👏🏻

Attended for boxing day lunch with my family .It was basically canteen standard food,gloopy congealed macaroni cheese, chilli con carne, chicken tikka masala,some carrots the other veg container was empty but it looked as if it might have been green. Had cheesecake which was dry as no pouring cream provided, similar experience for my wife who had profiteroles,dry,! No smiles on arrival at restaurant entrance,no table service for drinks so had to go to bar for a bottle of wine. Very very disappointed. We will not be going again.

First time we have been disappointed by the Diplomat. Boxing Day lunch food uninspiring, dried up macaroni cheese, strange mish mash of dishes on offer and lack of attentive table service noticeable.

Terrible food and Terrible service, the waitress actually spilt the glass bowl over my partners 9 year old son with not so much as an apology and then spilt my pint of lager over me, saying its not her night tonight. The menu was very limited, only having two choices, and the dessert menu was awful, I ordered the tirimasu, which was flavourless but so sweet it made my teeth itch. The staff wasn't very friendly and looked like they couldn't wait to leave, which is exactly what we did after food. Will definitely not be going back.

Nice clean rooms, though it looked like a cat had climbed up the net curtains with all the rips. The food was amazing and the service was great, nice breakfast with plenty of choice. Would stay there again anytime

The hotel itself is very welcoming with warm friendly staff Food was good Everywhere was clean and nicely decorated Service was OK although a bit slow Rooms were unbearably hot. I reported it twice as the heated towel rail would have taken skin off and I couldn't bear to use the ensuite due to the heat. I had to keep the bathroom door closed to give some relieve to the main room and open the windows but was still far too hot so hardly slept I was worried about it but it when I thought mine was faulty but it seemed to be all rooms as others were commenting at breakfast Would have been a lovely place to stay had that been resolved. So would go again

This is a really lovely hotel, particularly made so by the warmth and kindness of the staff. There are some aspects that need some attention though. Our mattress was in dire need of replacement, along with the pillows, shower curtain and a couple of other bits. However, I must say we had a lovely stay and truly enjoyed ourselves.

Lovely spa hotel! We went here for a fawlty towers night and it was brilliant. We stayed the night and made full use of the spa which was lovely! The rooms were lovely, the staff were brilliant. Overall a really nice hotel! 👌

First time visiting the Diplomat today with my family to have a meal for my birthday. Where to start, my grandmother is a wheelchair user and required the use of the lift to gain access to the restaurant, initially we were having difficulties navigating the lift especially still getting used to using her new powered wheelchair. Staff were so attentive and very helpful especially Sheldon who helped massively throughout the duration of our meal. He helped navigate the wheelchair, the lift, everything! His service was up there with the best, truly kind gem of a gentleman. Service from all the other staff in the restaurant was also great, no complaints. Very attentive and professional. The food was lovely and quality was great. Would definitely be back again! 10/10!

We were booked in to stay here this weekend, unfortunately a few hours into our stay I was taken ill and taken to hospital. The staff were amazing, especially Sheldon. They went above and beyond for us and were asking my husband how I was doing during the rest of his stay. Unfortunately I didn't get to sleep at the hotel, but I know that the room was pristine, the bed was clean, the bathroom was spotless, and as I walked into the reception when we got there, it smelt great! My husband and I have said we will definitely go back there again soon, and hopefully I will be able to enjoy it this time too! Many thanks to the staff once again Ria

Rooms are spacious, clean, and well equipped, health spa on site is excellent and relaxing. The staff were quite friendly and helpful. Dinner was excellent!
